Oushadhi is the largest and oldest manufacturer of Ayurvedic Medicines in the government sector in India. It produces around 420 Ayurvedic formulations, both classical and proprietary. Oushadhi is the monopoly supplier of Ayurvedic medicines to Govt. Ayurveda Hospitals and Dispensaries in Kerala. It is a GMP and ISO 9001-2008 certified company. Oushadhi also gives medicines to the Public through a strong network of agencies spanning all over the state and outside.
The medicine Manufacturing unit is situated at Kuttanellur near Thrissur. A well-equipped quality control lab monitors every stage of production. A new 16-crore plant at Kuttanellur is under construction with the aid of the Department of AYUSH and State government. With this, production will be doubled .A Panchakarama Hospital with modern facilities is also functioning in the heart of Thrissur town. Oushadhi also has a modern R&D unit installed with Rs. Two crore assistance from Ayush Department, New Delhi. Oushadhi also supplies medicines to ISM Departments of outside states such as Chhattigargh Rajasthan, Madhyapradesh, Orissa, Haryana, Pondicherry and Karnatak. It’s tourn over for 2011 – 2012 is Rs 47.38 crores and it aims to achieve Rs.85 crore 2012 – 13.

Oushadhi has an exemplary track record of tackling epidemics such as Chikkungunea, Dengue fever etc. Its Sudarsanam tablets, Thaleesapathradi Chooranam, Aparajithadhooma Chooranam etc give relief to patients affected with these diseases. Besides Prame Oushadhi, a time tested product in the management of diabetis, Vigor Plus, a medicine successfully used in the treatment of infertility, Cardocare for hypertension, Lipocare in the management of dislipidimea, Babyoil for smooth and supple skin in newborns are well accepted with the public.
