Shaikh Hassan Khan, a 36-year-old mountaineer from Kerala, secured a global accomplishment by successfully summiting Ojos del Salado, the world’s highest volcano located in Chile. Standing tall at 22,600 feet, Ojos del Salado marks the seventh significant peak conquered by Hasan. Notably, it also holds the distinction of being the highest peak in Chile.
Hasan, the son of MA Ali Ahmed Khan and J. Shahida from Darul Karam, Pandalam Puzhikkad, currently serves as an Assistant Section Officer in the Finance Department at the Secretariat. His remarkable achievements include conquering Everest in 2022, and he continued his journey by successfully reaching the summit of the world’s highest volcano. Before this accomplishment, Hasan had already completed missions on Kilimanjaro in Africa, Denali in North America, and Mount Vinson in Antarctica.
Hasan expressed his mission to disseminate a crucial message about climate change. His family includes his wife, Kadeejarani Hameed, and their daughter, Jahannara Maryam.
